We received this 2023 award for the painting of this substantial 2-storey home in St Kilda East, not too far from Black Rock. It was in very poor condition with a lot of bubbling and peeling, so we had to strip a lot of paint and oil undercoat prior to painting. Given the age of the property and condition of the paintwork, we followed our lead painting processes to protect everyone. Our client was thrilled with the outcome. The 2020 award is for the painting of this fabulous 2-storey home in Ormond. The before shot is below and, as you can see, the transformation is amazing and our client is very happy. We pressure washed, stripped some paint, filled and sanded prior to painting to achieve this result. We also painted a few rooms inside. The above photos are of the Malvern Heart Centre. We painted both the inside and outside following the renovation of this iconic building in Malvern East. This photo is of a 2-storey home we painted in Black Rock. We used a boom to paint the high areas at the front and painted everything else from ladders. It was fairly straightforward to paint, as the render was in good condition.

This photo is of another gorgeous home in Black Rock. We initially painted it when it was renovated, completing the interior and the new parts of the exterior. Our client called us back later to paint the original exterior of the house, mainly the front and sides.

“We have just had most of the exterior of our timber house painted by Women at Work Painters in two separate repeat contracts six months apart.

We found Women at Work Painters very reliable. They came to give us well-structured quotes, timings and contracts when they said they would. Their prices were reasonable, so we gave them repeat business for the two halves of our job.

The work was a bit tricky because of the high roof height, Georgian window frames and prolific plantings and garden beds adjacent to the building walls and surrounding picket fences. The preparation and painting were completed to a high standard. The two painters on our jobs were courteous, hard-working and very skilful. The painters kept us informed about when they were going to be on the job and what parts of the project they would be doing the next day. They did what they said they would do and made negligible mess on our property. Women at Work Painters management visited several times during the jobs to confirm that the high standards set were being met by the assigned painters and that we were happy.

They left us a list of the paints and colours they used and where they used them. They also left us some leftover paint so that we can complete touch-ups ourselves when needed in the future. We have a young puppy who is a bit of a bolter and they were careful to keep gates closed to isolate him in non-work areas and prevent escapes.

Frankly, we can’t think of anything we would like them to have done better.”

Black Rock is a small bayside suburb of Melbourne with a population of approximately 6,000 people. It is located approximately 18kms from the CBD and is part of the City of Bayside.
