We received the above painting award in 2024 for the repair and painting of this dual-occupancy house in Balwyn. It is a large and very long house with a rear extension. The house had been neglected and was in terrible condition. We stripped most of the windows prior to painting and completed carpentry repairs, pressure washed, filled cracks and repaired poor work completed by previous painters. Our client, who lives in Tasmania, was concerned that the property could not be restored and was thrilled with the finish we achieved. We received the above 2022 painting award for the painting of this fabulous 2-storey home in Kew. Substantial preparation was required, as well as scaffolding for the 2nd-storey and organising for the power company to cover the power line. Photos of a lovely Victorian home we painted in Hawthorn following a major renovation. As expected, we completed a lot of preparation both inside and outside. For the exterior, we used Classic Cream and Manor Red. Inside, we used Antique White USA for the walls and woodwork.

Balwyn is a Melbourne suburb located 10kms east of the CBD. It is part of the City of Boroondara and has a population of over 15,000 people.

Balwyn was named after a house built by Andrew Murray in the late 1850s that overlooked Canterbury Gardens and is now part of Fintona Girls’ School. He named his house Balwyn, meaning “the home of the vine”.

Balwyn is situated between Canterbury, Mont Albert, Kew and Balwyn North.

Balwyn North, as the name implies, is located next to Balwyn, approximately 11kms east of the Melbourne CBD, and is part of the City of Boroondara. It is a large suburb with a population of over 20,000 people.

Balwyn North was one of the first suburbs in Melbourne to be developed as a predominantly residential area, with few business areas and quiet residential streets for family homes.

Balwyn North also includes Bellevue in the north-west of the suburb and Greythorn in the south-east. It is very popular due to the amount of parkland in and around the area.
