Suburb: Moonee Ponds, Melbourne | Services: Exterior House Painting
This is a large 2-storey heritage home in Moonee Ponds. It was in reasonable condition however required alot of preparation and some paint stripping.
Initially we quoted to paint the new front fence and then returned to quote for the entire house. We painted the house and fence at the same time.
We stripped paint and oil undercoated where required to provide a stable surface prior to painting. There was alot of rotten timber and we referred our clients to a carpenter so that could be replaced.
We stripped paint using our grinder into our Festool dust extractor to minimise dust. We followed our lead paint procedures for this, as given the age of the house, we thought lead paint would be present. We then electric sanded all timber using our Festool sanders and dust extractors.
Scaffolding was required for the 2nd-storey. The power company was also required to attach a cover to the service line to meet their regulations with the scaffolding. We organised both of these.
The preparation and painting has renewed this home and our clients are very happy with the result.
